Surface Gallery was created in the summer 2008 by two young artists, Vikki Cruz and Yvonne Cavanagh. Surface Gallery has hosted 3 solo exhibits and 8 group shows since its grand opening.
We are dedicated to promoting the work of emerging and under-recognized contemporary artists whose work ranges in medium including:painting, photography, mixed media, and sculpture.
Surface Gallery hosts six exhibitions a year and maintains a deep commitment to exposing new artists' and group exhibits to Bakersfield. We participate in the downtown's "First Friday" events and continue to educate and establish new relationships with the community. We work to create an atmosphere that is both inviting and welcoming for art enthusiasts at all levels.
